Testing and measuring is a very crucial in any businesses. You need to know all your numbers in order to grow your eBay business to the next level.

If you have no idea what or how to measure your business, you can't go very far.

I have listed down some very important key indicators that you need to measure from time to time. For beginners, I strongly suggest you do it every week.

The more you do it, the more knowledge that you will gain about eBay and the merchandise that you are selling.

And of course, it will lead to better sales performance.

Test your starting bid. That's no right or wrong answers for starting bid. You have to test which starting bid will give you better closing rate.

If your starting bid is too low, sometimes it will give an impression that your product has low value.

A high starting bid will turn your bidders away. Try to look for a balance.

Test your auction title. A good auction will help you to get lots of clicks compare to a poor one. Your title must be keyword rich and full of motivation.

Try to run several auction at the same time with different title. At the end of the auction, look at your visitor's counter and observe which title give you the best response.

eBay provide you fifty five characters for your title, fully utilize it.

Test using a subtitle. eBay is charging extra fees if you want to insert an subtitle. Sometimes is worth payingif it helps you to generate extra clicks.

Try to run two auctions at the same time with same title.

One with subtitle and the other one without subtitle.

Measure the results after your auction close.

Test your best picture. Some pictures can out perform others in terms of generating clicks to your auction. You need a picture that stands out, grab attention and motivated enough for bidders to click.

If nobody clicks, nothing will happen. You must try your best to upload a picture that will help you to generate lots of clicks.

Test your ending time. According to statistics given by eBay, Sunday evening is the best time to ends your auction because it is the peak hours.

But it doesn't mean other times are not good.

You need to test different ending time and find out which timing work best for you.

Test others indicators. Other indicators such as reserve amounts, free shipping, second categories, free bonuses and so forth.
